Who We Are
In the heart of Dallas, MAD Concepts Group was founded by Courtney Lindley & Bob Gregg with a shared vision: build businesses that make an impact & have a little fun along the way.
Today, our team brings deep expertise in multi-location hospitality & restaurant operations. We’re hands-on, growth-minded, & people-driven-supporting every layer of the business with strategy, systems, & strong leadership. From local favorites to emerging concepts, we help brand scale with purpose.
Where We Started
MAD Concepts Group began in 2015 with a big idea: build something different. Something rooted in service, community, & culture. Our first step was acquiring the Slim Chickens DFW Franchise, growing it to 7 locations across the metroplex.
In 2018, we acquired 11 Floyd’s 99 Barbershop locations across DFW, eventually growing the business to 25 shops across DFW, Oklahoma, Arkansas, & Houston. We expanded the operations team, built strong leadership at every level, & laid the foundation for scalable growth.
In 2023, we sold Slim Chickens & shifted our focus to new ventures that aligned even more closely with our in-house culture & long-term vision. Those early years gave us the blueprint for what MAD Concepts Group is today-a bold, people-first company built on results & relationships.
Where We Are
Today. MAD Concepts Group owns & operates 13 locations of Jakes Burgers & Beer, including our newest opening at Energy Square in East Dallas in Oct. 2025, as well as our original brand Tacos & Avocados, which we built from the ground up & launched in Downtown Carrollton in 2024.
We continue to grow with intention. Our roadmap for 2026 & 2027 includes expanding Tacos & Avocados into new markets, growing Jakes presence in DFW, & launching bold new concepts:
Split Rail Texas Grill: a modern take on Texas Steakhouse Tradition.
Split Rail Market: offering butchered meats, prepared food, & unique local products.
Iglesia de Comal: elevated Latin cuisine in an old church.
Rivalry: a high-energy gaming complex build for fun, competition, & connection.
